An exhibition consisting of valuable artifacts from the residences of Napoleon Bonaparte debuted in Beijing on Friday, as one of the activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France.
The exhibition called "Meet Napoleon: The Disappeared Palaces" features 81 pieces/sets of antiques, presenting Napoleon's multi-faceted life.
Chairs, lamps and tapestries are among the exhibited items.
Multimedia and digital technology are also used to replicate the scenes of three ornate palaces -- the Tuileries Palace, the Château de Saint-Cloud and the Château de Meudon.
The exhibition held at the Meet You Museum will open to the public on March 30 and run until June 20.
Li Jinsheng, chairman of the China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd. (CAEG), said that China and France have conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the humanities, the arts and other fields for a long time.
"This year, we will hold some events to showcase Chinese culture in France, so that the French audiences can appreciate the charm of Chinese culture," said Li.
Supported by Art Exhibitions China and the French Embassy in China, the exhibition is hosted by the CAEG.
